I am reading the book called The Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway. So far i am at chapter 7 in the book. So far you find out that he is a pretty old fisherman with very little luck. In fact he was gone fishing 84 days and everyday he comes back empty handed. At first he had company in the boat by a young boy named Manolin but his parents made him leave because they were not catching any fish. I think so far the book is kind of slow But It really makes you wonder what is going to happen next. The author probaly wrote this book to show the theme of the book. The theme if the book to me is that no matter what never quit and in the end it will pay off. The best character to me so far is Manolin because after having success on the other boat he offers to come back and assist the old man. The man was thin and gaunt with deep wrinkles in the back of his neck. I think is a very good quote by the author more than anyone else because it is very descriptive and full of detail. I want to know when they are going to get a fish because I think that at any time they are going to get a huge fish.
